Returning to the topic posted on February 14, the yellow-chevroned parakeets were not the only ones visiting the Embankment to feed themselves. As I watched the parakeets also appeared great-kiskadee, the thrush, the burnished-buff tanager and another bird of the Tyrannidae family, whose identification I do not know.
Bm-te-vi - Great Kiskadee
Sabiá - Thrush
Tyrannidae desconhecido
Saíra-amarela - Burnish-buff Tanager
I was already aware that the Ceceropia tree is also known as sloth tree, sloths, because the sloths (Bradypus sp) feed on its fruits. But I did not know that so many birds can feed on their fruits at the same time. So, wait in observation near Cecropia trees with fruits, can be very interesting to observe the birds that it will look for food (in technical terms of ornithology would be "foraging").
So is noted: February (in Brazil) is the time of fruiting of Cecropia trees, near which it worth the wait for the coming of birds looking for food, when birdwatching and image capture can be worth while.
