Garibaldi (Chrysomus ruficapillus) - Chestnut-capped Blackbird

Pássaro pertencente à família Icteridae, um grande cantador dos brejos e banhados brasileiros. Está presente em todos os levantamentos de aves realizados em arroz inundado, principalmente no sul do Brasil. Muitas vezes visto como praga agrícola por consumirem o arroz em casca.

Entretanto foram as lavouras de arroz irrigado que ocuparam seu habitat natural, os banhados e campos inundáveis que foram drenados e manejas para se tornarem campos de produção. Ou seja, elas sempre lá estiveram, antes das lavouras de arroz.

Trata-se de um belíssimo pássaro, com um canto alegre, forte e agradável. Muito bonito de se observar e presentes na região da represa nos meses de julho a setembro.
